| All teaching at Casa Rosario is one on one. This means it is important to have a good relationship with your teacher. Casa Rosario is committed to this. We know that sometimes a particular student and teacher do not connect.. If you don't feel that your teacher is able to respond to your needs, Casa Rosario will gladly provide you with another teacher. On this page are a sampling of Casa Rosario's teachers. |

| A few of the teachers have been with Casa Rosario since it began in 1992. Most of the teachers have had significant experience teaching Spanish to non-Spanish speakers. They are able to help people at all levels of learning from the beginner to the advanced., and as student advances with their Spanish, they will be given the teacher most appropriate for their proficiency. The teachers have picked up quite number of common words in English and other languages, so they can often provide you with an English translation of a Spanish word when you don't remember what it means. |

| The young people of San Pedro la Laguna are the best educated of any Mayan community around the lake. Over 800 people in San Pedro having teaching degrees. This means there are more qualified teachers than there are teaching positions around Lake Atitlán. This means that Casa Rosario has a supply of qualified teachers who can speak and teach correct Spanish. Samuel and Vicente treat their teachers, as their students, very well, so there very few of the teachers leave for other schools, and a teaching positions at Casa Rosario is highly prized. |
Rosario
C. Reanda is one of the newer teachers. She has been teaching for one year,
but already she is a favorite among beginners because she is very patient. |

| . | The Mayan people of Guatemala speak a slow and very clear Spanish, perhaps in part because it is their second language. This is a very great advantage for the beginner. The student can spend their time and effort learning the language rather than trying to understand a difficult accent or a fast talker. |

| Many students come to Casa Rosario already with a grasp of Spanish. There are curriculums for medium and advanced speakers of Spanish. With your teacher, your level of Spanish will be evaluated, and you will begin on a course to take you to the next level. If you know what aspects you particular want to study, that will be the basis for your classes. |

| Some students come with a knowledge of Spanish words and Spanish grammar, but are unable to speak. For those students, living with a family is a great help. The immersion program, both at the school and with a family, is designed to get a student speaking. Once a student gets over the fear of making mistakes, he or she will begin to progress. Unlike other local schools, Casa Rosario places only one student per family, unless that student wishes to be place with a friend or family member. We have found that when there are two students with one family, one of them tends to speak for both. |
Cecilia
Tuch Morales also began teaching in 2005. |
